Colleague Jeremy Elson
and I worked as
consultants for Network Appliances
and Akamai to
lead the design and
writing process for two Internet RFCs starting in 1999. This
experience gave us the opportunity to collaborate with very strong
technical
people on the industry, and more importantly, provided us with
invaluable insight into the political aspects of creating an Internet
protocol within the framework of a standards body. TheiCAP
protocol (RFC 3507) has been implemented in a wide range of free
and commercial products.
